A Cotswolds Escape

I like to think it’s every girl’s dream to spend a few days in the idylic British countryside where every house is a muted shade of yellow, the flowers bloom freely, and it can only be described as “quaint.”

My Cottage-Core dream came true a few weeks ago when I had the opportunity to stay in this precious cottage attached to a partially ruinous medieval castle. On the property are several modern cottages, updated to high standards but retaining their charm that makes this place so unique. Our studio-style cottage was equipped with a large bathroom with expansive soaking tub, a small kitchenette area, and very comfortable bedding.

Not only do the cottages embrace the ruins of the castle, but the grounds are home to hundreds of blooming flowers- roses, peonies, daisies, all so very fragrant. Right next to the property is an ancient church and walking paths that run in each direction.

The small estate is just a few miles from a perfect Cotswold village- incredible for antique shopping, dining and strolling about while imagining the lives of those who lived there hundreds of years ago.

The Cotswolds is an incredible area of natural beauty. I recommend two full days to see the highlights of this expansive part of England- if you have more, certainly use it!
